    From Basic to Clinic 

    According to World Health Organization, cardiovascular diseases represent the leading health and diseases worldwide. Cardiovascular diseases are linked to the very complex interactions between genes, aging and life style, and various risk factors.

    This intensive teaching program will give an overview of the actual and future knowledge in the field of cardiovascular diseases. Selected thematics will be presented by renowned researchers and clinicians experts in the field who will share with the participants their experience through  interactive plenary lectures, workshops, hands-on and laboratory visits.

    Expected sessions (to be updated):

    • Visit of experimental and human vascular research laboratories
    • Pathophysiology and treatment options for venous ulceration
    • Diabetic foot
    • Exercise diagnostic testing in peripheral artery disease
    • The cardiovascular system in space
    • Mitochondrial disease in peripheral artery disease
    • Vascular imaging interactive session/ interpretation
    • Mechanotransduction
    • Integrative treatment of veno-lymphatic treatment
    • Cardiopathy and post-infarction imaging
    • Vascular response and septic shock
    • Research on Stoke prevention in Primary Care

    Organisation and attendance

    Classes take place on the Department of Medicine and in the hospital labs, from Monday to Friday.

    You have to participate in all courses.

    A certificate of attendance and 3 ECTS will be delivered at the end of the program.

    Please note that a day trip to the Atlantic coast is organized on Saturday 6th of July with all the participants. The Summer Schools will assume the train tickets fees and your accommodation one more night (in Angers). You must leave your accommodation on Sunday.
