"It was a great balance for the mix of medical and biology students"

Markéta Polidarovà, Student, 21 y.o., Czech Republic, RSSA

    • What would you recommend for the next Summer school's students ?

Do not fear talking to each other even if your English is not perfect. Enjoy all the non study activities. Don't be afraid to ask if you don't understant something.

    • What did you think of the activities organized by the Summer Schools?

I really enjoyed both trip do Nantes and Paris, it was a very good idea to visit research institutes.

    • What did you think of the Summer Schools’ courses?

For me as a molecular biology student, the courses of microbiology and gene therapy weren't deep enough and some of the medical courses especially the one about cardiovascular system were hard to understand. But overall I think it was a great balance for the mix of medical and biology students.

    • What did you think of the city of Angers ?

It is awesome, I loved it and I can't understand its emptyness during the week and even weekends.

    • What did you think of the welcoming day?

It was nice, great food I really liked it.

    • Do you have a little story to share with us?

I have so many stories. The two weeks felt almost like one month. The great story is from the weekend, Saturday. It was the day off. Me and two of my frinds didn't stay in Paris. In the evening there was some musical festival in the suburbs of Angers. We went there, bought some vine, listened to the music and danced. The river was close to the place and there was one small island, so we decided to go through the river there. But the streem was very strong so we almost didnť get there. On the island we met some 14 year old boys who were camping there. They offered us some food and wanted to talk to us but didn't speak English almost at all. It was kind of awkward, so we went back to the musical festival and stayed there until the last bus back. It was really great evening.
