Summer schools in Angers

"Courses were very informative and exciting and it opened my eyes to many things"

Alaa Salah, Final year student of Dentistry, 19 y.o., Sudan.

  • What would you recommend for the next Summer school’s students?

I would recommend the whole experience to any enthusiastic, future researcher.

  • What did you think of the activities organized by the Summer Schools?

The activities were great and interactive and they were a good get away from a long scientific day. i specially loved Kayak in Lac de Maine,   and the Farewell dinner was great.

  • What did you think of the Summer Schools’ courses?

Courses were very informative and exciting and it opened my eyes to many things i was not aware of! however, I wished if the topic of oral medicine and oral cancer was approached in one of the sessions.

  • What did you think of the city of Angers ?

Charming, quite city, I did not feel like a stranger there, after my second day I felt like this had always been my home and I didn't come from Sudan at all.

  • What did you think of the welcoming day?

Very casual and nice day of mingling and getting to know new friends.

  • Do you have a little story to share with us?

It was our last day, after the farewell dinner we went to see the fireworks and it was raining, I did not expect it to rain this much and I was not prepared.. so i shared the umbrella with Geossiupe (who had a special way to hold the umbrella designed to make you wet) all the way from the dinner to see the fire works.. and we got lost! and I was completely wet and my shoe lace was cut and i had to run around the city barefooted (now remembering the whole thing was just hilarious) in the end we watched the fireworks from the bridge and it was worth the fight ;)
now I will always remember that I was running under the rain in France with my Italian friend :)
